The casio camera records its image on a small floppy disc, which is inserted into a container within the battery operated camera. The disc can store up to 50 colour pictures, which can be erased if the user wants. The analogy is to a cassette tape recorder and a video recorder combined, but miniaturised to appeal to the mass market. There is also technological potential yet to be tapped. If the camera can be linked to telecommunications systems, it will be possible to take photographs on one continent to be seen by friends and relatives on another almost instantaneously.
